【PLAYERS — two people, never more】
RED: a 24-year-old East Asian man, lean, heavy shoulders and forearms. Cropped black hair
soaked to his forehead. Sharp narrow eyes, high cheekbones, hard jaw. Cool-toned skin with
real pores, wet with sweat. Plain solid red sleeveless shirt, plain black shorts, no logo
or number. The aggressor.
BLUE: a 26-year-old East Asian man, taller and rangier. Longer black hair pushed back,
dripping. Thick brows, square jaw, steady unblinking stare. Warm-toned skin with real
pores. Plain solid blue sleeveless shirt, plain black shorts, no logo or number. The
counter-puncher.
Neither shows fear: two masters at the end of a long duel, calm and spent. The violence is
in the ball, not their faces.

【TIMELINE】

0.0-2.5s SERVE — deep slow motion.
RED tosses the ball straight up. It climbs through the light, turning slowly, dust around
it. He exhales, drops his shoulder, loads his arm. At 2.2s he strikes: real time snaps in
and the ball tears out of frame.
Camera: low angle just above the table surface, looking up past the net. Locked off.
Audio: near silence — his breath, shoes creaking, a low hush. Then one sharp crack.

2.5-4.3s HYPER-SPEED RALLY — no slow motion at all, the fastest passage in the film.
Fourteen exchanges in under two seconds, faster than any real rally. The ball stops
reading as an object and becomes a white streak cutting a line through the dust. Paddle
arms blur into afterimages, shoulders whip, feet smear. Sweat is thrown off both men in
sheets. The table shudders.
Camera: side-on at net height, one smooth horizontal slide along the table — the camera
stays calm while everything inside the frame is violent.
Audio: the cracks run together into a hard stutter like a drum roll, over squealing shoes
and a rising crowd.

4.3-5.5s THE BREATH — the speed drops out.
One exchange stretched into deep slow motion. RED drives the ball low across the net,
sweat lifting off his forearm and floating, dust turning around the ball. BLUE's eyes
track it. At 5.4s his paddle meets it and real time cracks back in.
Camera: the same side-on slide, now crawling.
Audio: everything falls to a muffled rumble and one long breath, then the crack.

5.5-8.0s THE ANSWER — the deepest slow motion in the film.
BLUE pushes off the floor and leaps sideways, body fully extended, back arched, paddle arm
cocked behind his head. He hangs there. Sweat droplets float around him. Dust turns in the
beam. His eyes lock on the ball. At 7.8s the paddle connects and real time slams back with
the loudest crack yet.
Camera: low angle, looking steeply up at him against the black arena roof. Locked off.
Audio: sound drops muffled and distant while he hangs, then the crack at full volume.

8.0-10.0s THE POINT — real time.
The ball skips off the far corner and away into the dark. RED is caught frozen mid-reach,
unable to follow it. BLUE lands hard, skids on one foot, and roars, head back, fists
clenched. Behind them the crowd erupts, thousands of silhouettes rising at once.
Camera: wide on the table and both men, pushing in 5% at most. Hold to the last frame.
Audio: the crowd explodes, his roar cutting through it, the ball still bouncing underneath.
