here is an empty remotion project with the default react three fiber example. I want to create a 3D video to visualize top 20 videos games by copies of all time.Create a Remotion video that visualizes the top 20 best-selling video games as a vertical "tower", use boxes as towers with height representing the amount of copies. remove the default example from this project and create a remotion + react three fiber example to do this visualization. Resolution: 1920x1080 FPS:60 animate the camera from the bottom of the last rank to the top of the first rank. stop the camera on the top of each rank for a few miliseconds. here is the game ranking data you need [data as a JSON string]
Make it yours. Change the subject in "visualize top 20 videos games by copies of all time" and paste your own data at "[data as a JSON string]". Keep "FPS:60" and the camera instruction, which the creator says are hard to change later.
3D tower chart of best-selling video games
A 57-second 3D data video in which the 20 best-selling games stand as box towers sized by copies sold while the camera climbs from rank 20 to rank 1. Built in Claude Code with Remotion and React Three Fiber; the thread shares tips for prompting 3D data videos.
“If you want 3D visuals, explicitly mention React Three Fiber or three.js.”
You'll need
- A Remotion project with the React Three Fiber example and Remotion's agent skills
- Your ranking data as JSON, pasted where the prompt says "[data as a JSON string]"
How it was made
The creator set up a repo from the basic Remotion boilerplate with Remotion Skills, opened it in Claude Code, and generated a few versions to learn which details matter. The published prompt replaces the dataset with a placeholder. Later prompts weren't published: they added images, a Sketchfab football-field model as the background, and props to resize and reposition it in Remotion Studio. The visual reference was a popular YouTube ranking video. The model isn't named. The Remotion showcase carries the same prompt, except that the data placeholder is written as a comment and a line is added pointing to the X thread for more instructions; this entry uses the creator's reply on X.

A 3D bar chart in a low-poly park: blue box towers topped with game box art, each with a name label, copies sold, rank, and a country flag, climbing from rank 20 to rank 2 beside the tall rank-1 tower.
- Color
- Periwinkle-blue towers with lavender labels and yellow numbers, lime-green low-poly trees, green grass, pale gray paths, and a white sky.
- Type
- A bold sans: white game titles on lavender label panels ("Mario Kart Wii", "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt"), large yellow sales figures ("37.3 M", "205 M"), and white rank numbers ("#19").
- Framing
- 16:9 eye-level views of two or three towers at a time, box art standing on each tower top and a flag beside it. Each frame sits higher than the last, so the next tower top stays in view against the trees and a fenced field behind.
- Structure
- Ranks 20 to 18 (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart Wii, Skyrim), 17 to 14 (two Call of Duty titles, Stardew Valley, Wii Fit Plus), 13 to 8 (Animal Crossing, Pokemon Red / Green / Blue, The Witcher 3, Overwatch, Human: Fall Flat, Super Mario Bros.), 7 to 3 (Terraria, Red Dead Redemption 2, PUBG, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe), then Grand Theft Auto V at #2 with 205 M beside the rank-1 tower.
